Seating Information
Madison Square Garden uses a four-level bowl design with Floor, 100 Level, 200 Level, and 300 Level seating. Each level provides a different balance of proximity, comfort, and price.
Concert seating: Floor seats are closest to the stage and may be reserved or general admission depending on the show. The 100 Level offers some of the best overall views, especially center-side sections. The 200 Level provides elevated, full-stage visibility and strong value. The 300 Level is the highest and most budget-friendly option while still offering a complete view of the stage.
Sports seating: Floor seats place fans at court or ice level for Knicks and Rangers games. The 100 Level is considered the best for live sports viewing. The 200 Level offers excellent tactical perspective of gameplay. The 300 Level is the highest but still provides a full overview of the action.
Best sections: For concerts, lower bowl side sections near center stage and select 200 Level center sections are ideal. For sports, center 100 Level sideline sections provide the best experience.
Sections to avoid: Seats behind the stage or extreme upper corner sections may have limited or less optimal views depending on the event setup.
Parking Information
Madison Square Garden is located in Midtown Manhattan, where parking is limited and expensive due to high demand.
Nearby garages: Multiple commercial parking garages are located within a 1–5 minute walk of the venue near Penn Station and 8th Avenue. Prices typically range from $30 to $80 for major events, increasing for high-demand concerts and games.
Farther garages: Additional parking options in Herald Square and Chelsea (10–15 minutes walking distance) may offer lower prices, usually between $20 and $50.
Street parking: Very limited and heavily restricted. Metered parking exists but is unreliable for event attendance.
Rideshare zones: Common pickup and drop-off areas are around 7th Avenue & 33rd Street and West 31st Street near Penn Station entrances. Expect heavy congestion after events.
Options to avoid: Last-minute parking near the arena during major events due to extreme pricing and full capacity garages.
Box Office Information
Madison Square Garden primarily uses mobile ticketing for all events. Most tickets are delivered electronically through official apps such as Ticketmaster or MSG platforms.
Ticket delivery: Mobile tickets are standard, and attendees must present digital tickets on entry. Printed or hard tickets are rarely issued.
Transfers: Ticket transfer availability depends on the event organizer. Some events allow digital transfer while others restrict it until closer to show time.
